Bruce Willis and his family have faced a challenging period recently. As many are aware, the acclaimed actor has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a degenerative brain condition leading to his withdrawal from the spotlight, possibly permanently.
While much has been said about the family’s love and support for Bruce during his darkest times, recent reports depict a troubling aspect of the star’s mental health. Earlier this year, Bruce Willis’s family revealed the actor’s diagnosis of dementia.
Following this revelation, his daughter Scout wrote a touching letter expressing feeling “a bit overwhelmed.” Bruce had previously announced his retirement from acting in March of the previous year after being formally diagnosed with aphasia. His inability to communicate with others on set was one of the apparent effects of his illness.
In February 2023, the public became aware of his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis. The weeks and months since then have been a struggle for the Willis family, and recent news suggests they may be facing another form of difficulty.
According to Radar Online, Bruce and Demi Mooreâs daughter, Tallulah, battled anorexia after breaking up with fiancĂ© Dillon Buss, just three months after Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia.
“Bruce could see her wasting away, and it only made his own problems worse,” said a source. “Bruce was shattered when he saw Tallulahâs suffering,” the insider continued. “It got to the point where the family thought it would be better if they werenât around each other at all.”
Tallulah revealed that after her breakup, she entered a residential treatment center, where she was evaluated and diagnosed with BPD.
âI felt smart for the first time,â Tallulah said about taking medication. âBut I also started to enjoy the appetite-âsuppressant side effect of the meds. I saw a way to banish the awkward adolescent in favor of a flighty little pixie. And like so many people with eating disorders, my sense of myself went haywire.â
âThereâs an unhealthy deliciousness at the beginning of losing weight rapidly. People are like, âOh wow!â And then quickly it turns to, âAre you okay?â My friends and family were terrified, and I dismissed it.â
In the spring of 2022, Tallulah weighed about 84 lbs and faced severe health concerns. Letâs hope Tallulah receives the care she needs to get better soon. Dealing with her fatherâs health problems on top of everything else must be incredibly challenging for her. Please SHARE this article to send love and prayers to the Willis family!
