“Giant Service Dog Goes Above and Beyond for Little Girl with Rare Disorder, Family Thanks Him with the ‘Best Day Ever'”

Meet Bella, an 11-year-old girl diagnosed with Morquio syndrome, a rare condition that gradually causes her to lose her mobility. A few years ago, her family learned that their daughter would eventually lose the ability to move independently. Despite the grim prognosis, they held onto hope. That’s when George, a service dog, entered Bella’s life and changed it forever.

Bella and George share an exceptional bond, as he assists her in walking and enables her to go wherever she desires. He wears a harness that identifies him as a service dog, and the two have become inseparable.

One day, Bella went to school for half a day and then spent time playing at her friend Hunter’s house. George enjoyed the visit as well, as he could nap on the couch while Bella played. Later, the family went to the cinema with friends to watch Star Wars Rogue One in 3D at the IMAX. After the movie, they had ice cream and went home to rest.

Bella decided it was time to give back to her loyal companion, George, who had provided her with so much. The family reached out to BarkPost, a popular website that organizes events called “Dog’s Best Days.”

Touched by Bella’s story, the team decided to create the best day ever for George.
