Country singer Toby Keith dead at 62 following cancer battle

Country music icon Toby Keith passed away early on Tuesday, February 6, after a battle with stomach cancer, bringing an end to his remarkable career.

Keith, aged 62, bid farewell to his loved ones on Monday night as he succumbed to his illness. Known for hits like “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” Keith’s music resonated with audiences worldwide.

The news of his cancer diagnosis surfaced only eighteen months ago, shedding light on the lengthy health struggle he faced.
Toby Keith, a prominent figure in country music, shared his health journey with fans when he disclosed his stomach cancer diagnosis in 2022. Despite undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery over the past six months, Keith remained optimistic, expressing gratitude for the support of his fans and the opportunity to spend time with his family during his recovery.

Throughout his career, Keith was a staunch advocate for cancer research, founding the Toby Keith Foundation in 2006 to support children battling cancer by providing free housing.
